HA 2024.1 has introduced valve entities: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/valve/

Does this make sense for this integration? How would it work with the durations?

If it works it would be great, then users don't have to create custom switches as the UI will have built in components for valves and apparently they work with assistants like Google Assistants and Alexa out of the box.
