I appreciate your concern. The current behavior of the microphone remaining active even when toggled off in the meeting room is a default setting of the operating system. It might be worthwhile to check if the same behavior occurs with other conferencing platforms as well.
When the user is in the meeting room, the microphone remains active even if it has been toggled off, the browser utilizes it consistently
