it has happened to me in various environments other that Pi that downloading stops working.

The PROBLEM:
When that happens users search for a song, click on download… and nothing happens. They wait and wait and still nothing happens. They try again and again and still just quiet nothing. So it’s not clear to users what’s happening and whether they are found something wrong or maybe something with internet connection or maybe a bad version of a song was selected or whatever else could go wrong. But the end result is the same - confusion and endless waiting and endless trying other things until people realize that it’s just broken.

What I PROPOSE:

  1. If possible show the progress of a download.

  2. When download successfully completes and the song is added to the queue, show some subtle indication that it has happened. Something without any sound so that it will not interrupt sound if there’s another song currently playing.

  3. If the download fails, for whatever reason, show some kind of an alert to indicate that there was an error downloading a song or whatever else the problem might be that prevented a requested song to be added to the queue.

Errors can happen and installations do break. But at least people won’t be in the dark.

Thank you everyone for making this project better.
