handleSubmit not working when called immediately after setInput

setInput(UIStateInput); //from useChat
console.log("UIStateInput", UIStateInput);
console.log("input", input); //from useChat

handleSubmit(undefined, {
	experimental_attachments: attachedFiles
});

prints

UIStateInput hello
input 

handleSubmit returns without executing since input is empty.

is there any workaround?

I also tried append method with attachments but its not processing attachments. its only forwarding text content.

append({
	content: UIStateInput,
	role: "user",
	experimental_attachments: attachedFiles,
});

btw everything works if am calling handleSubmit sometime after setting setInput.
