Aporteus which is Arch Linux based version of Porteus , is best , fastest and greatest distro i ever met , it's fully modular , supports bleeding edge techs like zstd , have a tool to very easily compile and use latest version of released or RC kernel directly from kernel.org ( Kernel Builder ) , have a tool to generate daily fresh ISO so all the packages are daily and fresh ( Aporteus ISO Builder ) , you can have multi desktops on a ISO and on boot select whatever you like , it has naturally Copy to RAM feature with flag to copy specific modules only so linux run at huge speed , a lot of tools and softwares along side mini size ISO , and it use very very low ram and ISO size, You can generate ISO with whatever language you like to distro have. https://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?t=4997 if it's possible please add UEFI support for this great distro. |

For me I'm missing Hiren's Boot CD (https://www.hirensbootcd.org/) - it's WindowsPE based and supports UEFI from USB. I tested it but trying to boot it will fail with an I/O error. Would be nice if this could be supported in the future as well. |

Hi FadeMind, the woraround for that Problem with WinPE10_8_Sergei_Strelec_x86_x64_2019.12.28_English.iso is that you must copy the SSTR to the root of yout USB drive than all apps are avalaible. |
Hi MFlisar , if you want use that now with HBCD you must extract the iso but the ventoy.dat on the root of the iso recreate the iso with example: ntlite oder oder tools and than you are able to boot from. |

Hi, HDClone 9.0.11 ISO is stating on UEFI succesfully but on Legacy after choose "s" or "x64" to start hdclone it open's a black windows in front of the Ventoy Menu and noting happens more. Must hardreset the System. |

Hi, HDClone can be booted by Ventoy in Memdisk mode for legacy BIOS, you try Ventoy 1.0.08 beta2. For memdisk mode see Notes |

Hi, thanks for your repley boot i have same error after menu to start hdclone he's go back to the menu with a black windows saying he's loading the iso file to mem and that it freez. |

Acronis True Image 2020 24.6.1 Build 25700 in Legacy is working in Memdisk mode on 1.0.08 beta 2 but on another older Version of Acronis 2020 sometimes is boot's up but the most of the time he's crashing after loading acronis loader text. |

On one of my Laptop Problem with HBCD_PE_x64.iso Uefi on start from Desktop error with Autoit v3: Pintool.exe Application error. That error i have also with WinPE 10 Sergei is booting with that error ( on Skylake Processor). On my other Laptop from other Manufacturer is booting without error. (Haswell Processor) Tested in Memdisk and normal mode with 1.0.08b2 |

Tested below ISOs on HP ENVY x360- 13-ag0007au (1st-gen Ryzen Mobile convertible laptop, BIOS F.46 Rev.A) with Ventoy 1.0.08 final release in UEFI secure boot mode:

FreeNAS-11.3-U2.1.iso (FreeBSD based) tested using ventoy-1.0.08 hung during boot in both bios and uefi at the following error; da1: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present testing on a NUC7i5BNK |

Using Ventoy-1.0.08, ubuntudde-20.04-amd64-desktop.iso is still unable to boot under uefi. |

Same issue with 1.0.09b1. It says that no bootfile found for uefi. I've already disabled secure boot. |
Slackware is supported by Ventoy (I've tested it on UEFI). |

Proxmox VE 8.1 doesn't boot in UEFI mode via Ventoy Testing platform: HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF with i5 6500, secure boot disabled. |

HPE Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media for Gen10 and Gen10 Plus - Version: 3.88 (4 Sep 2023) (i verified that the checksum of the ISO file is correct, matches the one from the HPE page). Booting Ventoy (version 1.0.97 release) on a HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10, (UEFI boot mode but with secure boot disabled) and then choosing the ISO file for intelligent provisioning firmware update causes a kernel panic in the HPE installer after showing a ramdisk checksum error for a few seconds. The kernel panic error message is pretty much the same one as the one for the SPP (Service Pack for ProLiant) in the screenshot above - unable to mount filesystem - HPE is using the same general boot infrastructure for both the SPP and the Intelligent Provisioning. i wiped the USB drive and used the bootable USB utility from HPE (included in the same ISO image) to create the bootable USB on the same usb device, This one with the HPE boot loader worked without issue. |

nope. did not try that (i have not used Ventoy much... ), For me it was faster to just wipe the USB drive and make a dedicated boot USB that i knew that would work. |

Hello, unfortunately Kubuntu 24.04 LTS does not start from the USB stick. I can select "grub" "normal", but then I have a black screen. With Kubuntu 22.04.4 LTS it starts without problems. Thank you Ventoy 1.0.99 |

RavynOS is unsupported, it doesn't boot with Ventoy. |
Confirmed it still doesn't work on legacy mode in 1.0.99 with memtest86+ v7 (https://www.memtest.org/) The bin files (When renamed to img so ventoy sees them) result in error output, while the "Linux iso" download seems to make it directly boot the system's default grub. The efi files boot in uefi mode fine In grub the menuentry for it was just PS: memtest86 and memtest86+ are completely different tools, please add an entry for memtest86+ since that's what most people use on linux |

@soredake there appears to be an ongoing issue with Secure Boot across the latest version of Ventoy. You can downgrade for a possible workaround. |

@DukeJukemEG are you sure there isn't a disk issue? I just installed Windows 24H2 a few minutes ago using Ventoy without problems. If you're getting errors, can you show a screenshot or list them so we can see the details? |

Hrm, try version 1.0.98. Do you have issues there? What model of computer are you each using? I've installed Windows on several in the past few weeks without any issues so I'm wondering if it's a problem in either the latest version or a compatibility issue. |
Im 99% sure its either latest version issue or something "weird" going on, i installed windows 10 before updating using 1.0.98 and after updating never really installed windows just linux distros and now the same windows 10 iso is having issue detecting disks using 1.0.99 . HP 250 G8. |

I realized that while I was technically installing 24H2, I was using a sysprepped version of it, and not running the latest installer, just the latest Windows image. I did encounter some oddities when using the officially released 24H2 version because it looks like Microsoft changed the installer itself, not just Windows. Looks like the main discussion on this is over at #2887. I'll include some findings from my tests as well. The tricky thing is that on a virtual machine it works fine, but not a physical host. |

Hey, here is results of testing OSs via Ventoy , based on Distrowatch and https://www.ventoy.net/en/isolist.html , using released version of Ventoy in testing time.
NOTE : Any "Install macOS ..." created bootable .dmg's (which are just .img files) , ISO or RAW , don't currently boot on Macs (through ventoy) due to how their bootloaders are setup compared to normal UEFI bootloaders.
