How does the MacOS AppStore version work?

I know that MacOS app should be sandboxed for AppStore, so it can't run arbitrary executable files (e. g. qemu) or maybe even virtualise.

Do you embed some version of qemu in the app (and code sign it) like this?

• QEMU is linked as a shared library in UTM.
• On macOS, XPC is used to launch QEMU in a new process.
