Drop event

is there a filter to drop events ? If not, please advise if there would be a option to do so ?

Hey, there isn't one today.
I think this logic doesn't belong in the appender.
It either belongs in your code that writes the log or it belongs to another appender that will write its logs using log4stash.
As for the second option, it should be pretty easy to develop such mechanism.

You also can use Filter mechanism of log4net.
