Hi there @gm-ecreo! Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better. We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.
We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions. Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot 🤖 🙂 |

@gm-ecreo Thank you for reporting this. The Media dropzone is applied to the entire workspace (for the Media root collection and any Folder media-type). Recording.2025-01-20.090128.mp4I appreciate that there is no longer a visual indicator about the dropzone area, I'll discuss with the team. |

Hi @leekelleher Yeah, i guess it is ok without the visual dropzone indicator. But maybe an Upload button in the top left corner next to the Create can help lessen the confusion? I think its just a nice help with the automatic opening of the system folders instead of opening it separate. Thanks in advance :-) Best regards, Gorm/Ecreo |

I am taking the liberty to convert this to a discussion topic as it is quite subjective. We are discussing it internally at HQ. |

Generally speaking I think the UI should indicate something can be dragged to an area, otherwise it intuitive and not obvious to newbies. I think there are some great UI/UX tips here for instance: |

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)
15.1.1
Bug summary
Missing upload button or/and dropzone indicator in the media library. It creates some confusion for the end user how to bulk upload files.
Specifics
Steps to reproduce
Try and bulk upload media in the Media settings. Right now it seems like the only way to do it is via the Create button where you need to define every file uploaded. There is no indicator to drag and drop or upload other ways.
Expected result / actual result
An Upload button that opens your operating systems pathfinder/folder, where you can select single or multiple files for upload. Or a dropzone indicator in the media section in Umbraco.
