  • Metadata and its importance: describe what metadata is and illustrate importance using real world examples.
  • Data Management: describe how adhering to good data management practices influences quality metadata. Efficient/persistent workflows are built around data management. Data management plan resources. READMEs, Data Dictionary.
  • Overview of metadata standards and schemas for geomatics: FGDC, ISO, DDI, DublinCore, etc. Interoperability. Crosswalks
  • Resources for learning about or creating metadata: potentially with a general workflow example/description.
