Describe the bug

When I set the Homepage as chrome://bookmarks/ when I start Cromite it opens two tabs, the first for my bookmarks and the other which is the Cromite's Homepage.

If I use 'Close all open tabs on exit' then I don't see this issue. But when I exit the browser, I close all the tabs, then tap on the Home icon before exiting Cromite.

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Go to Settings - Homepage
  2. Tap on the second section and type in; chrome://bookmarks/
  3. Show NTP at startup is enabled
  4. Before exiting the browser, close all tabs and tap on the Home button.
  5. Exit the browser
  6. Restart browser

Expected behavior

I expected to set my Homepage to only show the bookmarks when I start Cromite.

Screenshots

This is how Cromite looks each time I start it, always displaying Cromite's Homepage as the visible tab.

I cannot reproduce the problem, because, when I get to point 4)

  1. Before exiting the browser, close all tabs and tap on the Home button.

closing all tabs closes the browser.

Hi @uazo

My mistake before, if Show NTP at startup is enabled, then I see this happening. I close all tabs, and then press the Home button, so that I am only looking at the Home page and nothing else, and I'm still seeing this in Cromite 133.0.6943.60.

This is my Home settings...

In this screen shot, this is how cromite looks, only on my Home page as my bookmarks, before I exit.

Image

Now I exit cromite and restart it, and now there is a new tab, instead of showing my Home page with my bookmarks is what I expected. I assumed if I close all tabs before exiting cromite, I don't see this behaviour.

You can see in this screen shot it says bookmarks was my last tab, but this doesn't make sense to me as a last tab, since I closed all tabs and this is my Home page. To me in my mind, I have always considered this type of behaviour means when you have another tab open besides the Home page. I've never counted/considered the Home page as a tab, it's simply the Home.

I thought Show NTP at startup meant for tabs you kept when you exited and didn't close.

Thanks
