Searching, locating, and accessing library resources has changed considerably in recent years. Increases in the use of licensed, electronic resources, such as e-books, e-journals, and research data, necessitates a different approach to library website and catalogue design. The University of Alberta Libraries are developing a new and comprehensive discovery strategy to be responsive to this changing resource landscape.

Phase 1 is the implementation of a new discovery system. This entails a full-scale redesign of the website and search interface. The new design prioritizes discovery and access across our entire range of owned and licensed material, and facilitates access and reuse of that material within a user’s workflow.
