On a new, fresh Kali VM build in Parallels, after installing ptf and completing a reboot, the machine allows me to log in as normal, but once the machine is up and running, I get a screen (black), with the Kali screen about half the size of a stamp. I have exhausted all my searches online for this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.,

I have created a Snapshot that I can revert back to. But this will get old having to create snapshots after each session and then restarted and logging back in and setting the machine.

I'm also on an M1 MacBook Pro and I'm not seeing this issue in Kali via Parallels on UTM. Just adding another data point for you. PTF really shouldn't have any impact on your issue whatsoever.

Did you install the guest additions? Perhaps enable ssh, remote in and troubleshoot. Sounds like you might need the openvm-tools package. Not sure how PTF could have done this, however.
