Steps to compile ssmp:
----------------------
1. Fix the Makefile (not always necessary)
The Makefile sets some parameters based on which is the host you are running on.
The parameters are:
* MEASUREMENTS : set to 1 in order to compile libssmp with a simple profiler
* TARGET_ARCH : set the target architecture. Currently supported: i386, x86_64, sparc, tile
* TARGET_PLAT : set generic for the default message passing implementation. You can set to e.g. opteron for optimized implementations. Supported target platforms: generic, opteron, xeon, tilera, niagara. In details:
* opteron: optimized for an 8-socket AMD Opteron Magny Cours
* xeon: optimized for an 8-socket Intel Xeon Westemere-EX
* tilera: interface for Tilera's hardware message passing
* niagara: optimized for an UltraSPARC-T2
* CC : the compiler to be used
* CFLAGS : the compilation flags
* LDFLAGS : the libraries to link with
* VER_FLAGS : version flags, such as the platform name
If a configuration is not specified, the DEFAULT configuration is used (it should work for most x86 platforms).
3. Set the cpu speed in measurements.h (REF_SPEED_GHZ)
3. Compile for the target platform
In the base folder of the project execute:
make all
This will compile both libssmp.a and the benchmarks
4. ./application_name -h
You will get all the details you need in order to use the applications.
Tested platforms:
-----------------
ccbench has been tested on the following platforms:
* UMA and NUMA x86_64
* SPARC (UltraSPARC T2, UltraSPARC T4-4)
* Tilera (Tile-GX36)
