The following fish species are non-native in Flanders but considered native in waarnemingen.be

  • Abramis sapa (no current observations in waarnemingen.be, but I believe one has been caught a few years ago in the 'Watersportbaan' in Ghent)
  • Vimba vimba (no current observations in waarnemingen.be, but they have been caught in canal 'Kortrijk-Bossuit')
  • Romanogobio belingi (no current observations in waarnemingen.be and species ID is hard, so might stay unnoticed for some time, but it has been found in The Netherlands)

Thanks, it looks like two actions should be taken:

  • Add these species to the alien-fishes checklist, as they are currently missing
  • Update the status in wn.be
