Perhaps start with the HDX client, already provided as a Python package:
- https://data.humdata.org/faqs/devs#body-faq-Accessing_HDX_by_API
- https://hdx-python-api.readthedocs.io
Or, write (or find) a "plain CKAN" client
- with reference to https://docs.ckan.org/en/2.9/api/
Use these to access specific providers, such as:
- HDX
- TUMI Data
