Can't get RCON to connect

Hey-- got the server up and running and am able to connect through the internet with all my launch options working properly. I have the port 27015 forwarded as well. Client-wise, cannot seem to rcon into the server when I connect.

When setting rcon_address I get the error message (I've tried both as a player (CT/T) and as a spectator) : Can't change rcon_address when playing, disconnect from the server or switch team to spectators.

This doesn't seem to matter too much, as it seems to default to the connected server already.

I am able to set the password via rcon_password="TEST_PASSWORD".

Once I try rcon status, I get: Unable to connect to remote server

Fixed! the issue was not port forwarding both TCP and UDP. Once you have both RCON works :)
