We developed the table of contents block primarily for Creepy Catalog.

For a brief period, we enjoyed perfect Core Web Vitals ratings on Google Search Console.

Now we're being dinged for CLS on Desktop.

Many of the pages now listed as "need improvement" have a table of contents block.

It seems like defaulting the TOC to open and dynamically inserting the links is causing layout shift.

Before deciding exactly how to fix the issue, how can we prove that this is actually a problem?
