I would like to be able to set a maximum depth at which directories should be copied. Beyond this depth, all directories would be symlinked instead. Is there currently a way to do this? If not would you accept a PR adding this functionality?

Hi!

We do not currently have that functionality. We do have SYMLINK_DIRS in rcrc(5), as you've likely seen.

What's the use case for max depth? Are you dealing with a large number of directories?
