Sure! In short if you are working with quire (or most other static site generators) and you find yourself re-writing lots of Word documents (or OpenOffice documents) as markdown, your doing it wrong. There is a much faster way to convert your author's content from a The solution is Pandoc. Quire's documentation has a small section here that discusses the use of Pandoc but you may be like me and missed it in the documentation, so I think its worth highlighting. @daniel-keller This is phenomenal. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this up and share it with the community. I am going to amend the documentation section that covers Pandoc to include some of the information you've written up here. It's broken down in such a helpful and clear way. It's a wonderful contribution. Thank you! |

@daniel-keller, I love the Museum Publishing Digital Interest Group presentation you and your colleagues gave on your recent Quire publication, Masterpieces from the Clowes Collection: Paintings. Thank you for sharing the outstanding work you did. I was particularly interested in the World-to-Quire pipeline created with Pandoc. As you mention in the presentation, "in one command, you can get yourself 90% of the way to a finished Quire document." Can you share a little more information about how you achieved this? This feels like a potential Quire game-changer. Bravo!!
