Context

We've been approached to participate in an observational and interview study as part of a Sloan Foundation grant. The researcher has come to a couple of co-working sessions and a Collaboration Cafe to discuss the proposal.

Considerations

  • Important to maintain trust of attendees by proactively communicating the plan to them and asking them to consent to the study
  • As a Working Group we're broadly supportive of the overall aim of the study

Updates

  • @EstherPlomp & @Arielle-Bennett currently looking at the consent form sent over, want to make sure it complies with GDPR
  • Plan to go back with questions and points by 15 April
  • Aiming to have the consent form ready for when the applicants are notified

Just to keep this updated - we didn't get confirmation through in time of IRB approval (and some other bits and pieces meant we ran out of time to have everything in place that was needed for the study), so we are planning this for the November Book Dash.

The person who was going to be conducting the study is participating in the Book Dash in June as a participant, to gain an understanding of the community and contribute their expertise in topics to the project as well 🎉
