Inkscape can be installed from Microsoft Store Now. It seems the current version of Install-GtkSourceView-3.24-Inkscape-1.0-64bit.exe is not compatible with the Windows App version of Inkscape-1.1.

What's more, "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" is locked and not allowed to view by default.

Thanks.

Hi @xingyunjohn1 Indeed, it is impossible to use this package when Inkscape has been installed from the MS Store. It is not allowed to write into the installation directory of Apps installed from the Store. I do not see a solution for this problem since the files shipped by GtkSourceView-3.24-Inkscape need to be installed into the Python-subysystem installed together with Inkscape.

So there are two options:

  1. Use TexText without gtksourceview-for-inkscape-windows. It will work flawlessly, but without syntax highlighting
  2. Install Inkscape with the msi or exe installer. (I have heard that some new Windows 10 versions do not support them anymore, do you know anything about this?)

I will add this information to the TexText documentation.
