Is a combination of Fleet API and the original TeslaMate (not fleet telemetry) still acceptable?

Hi all,
I was using Teslamate and the Home Assistant Tesla Integration for charging on solar, and I changed to using Fleet API when that stopped working.
However Teslamate is still working correctly and is much easier to deal with than polling via the fleet API.

However the documents page "Using the Official Tesla Fleet API and Telemetry Streaming" states "Important: if you don't setup your own streaming, you MUST disable manually the streaming in Teslamate settings."

Could some kind soul please explain the reason for this.
