Docs don't explain how to actually use the model files.

I already have a billing dashboard setup so I just want to get the BQ utilization stuff.

I see three different files that appear to be for this, how do I use them with looker?

  • bigquery_audit.dashboard.lookml
  • bigquery_data_access.view.lkml
  • gcp_bigquery_logs.model.lkml

the dashboard file is a lookml dash, you'll need to include that in your model so its appears for use if not using the model file we provided. It is tied to the views in this file so if you go changing any object names you'd need to update it.

you only need to check the data_access view is pointing to the right table. its set to auditv3.cloudaudit_googleapis_com_data_access . thats it, everything should work without changing anything else.
