There are a few reasons why it wouldn't make sense for Baby Eetles and Purps, some of which I can list and some of which I cannot because of minor spoilers.

Baby Eetles are technically monsters, which is a kinda inconsistent with poisonous potatoes not working on zombies, and their aging mechanics aren't exactly normal.... and they will be even less normal in updates to come. Also, poisonous potatoes would have too much use then because the Brood Eetle and similar events would be much easier.

The first issue with making poisonous potatoes work on Purps would be that poisonous potatoes would make a significantly cheaper alternative to poison splash potions on Purps, which are very useful for fighting the Purpazoid. There are some potential ideas still floating around about Purp aging too.

poisonous potatoes don't work on zombies, i think, because they don't grow up anyway. Farcr already had them work on creepies. and it's a 1/10 chance of each rc'd poisonous potato to stunt growth, so you need to feed each eetle like 10 for it to work, so it would be really hard to make effective in fast-paced brood eetle fights. i understand if you still don't do the thing, just take these factors into consideration :)
