[constructable stylesheet objects] Any traction or alternative?

I'm intrigued by the problem this attempts to solve with allowing explicit importing of global styles into a shadow root. I see this hasn't had much attention but it's definitely a challenge especially as v1 is seeing some uptake. Is there any traction on this or an alternative to solution proposed?
