I have 3x Smartmi Standing Fan 2s which don't appear in HA when I have them connected to my separate (IOT) subnet to HA.

Other devices can communicate with HA while on the IOT subnet (e.g. Yeelight) so I know the network isn't blocking it. I can also control the fans in the Mi Home app but the fan's fail to appear in HA. I have double checked the IP and token in my config and restarted my network and HA multiple times. When I then remove the fans, then join to the same subnet as HA and retrieve the token etc they work perfectly.

Do you know if this something that can be resolved or is it just a restriction of the fans/xioami?

It's well known and cannot be resolved IMO: https://python-miio.readthedocs.io/en/latest/troubleshooting.html

It's a firmware limitation.
