📦 Getting Started

Follow the steps below to set up and run the DeepSeek extension in your VS Code environment.

1. Set Up the Project

Generate a new VS Code extension project:

npx --package yo --package generator-code -- yo code

    Default Values:
        Language: TypeScript
        Package Manager: npm
  1. Install Ollama

Install Ollama to run the AI models:

curl -fsSL https://ollama.com/install.sh | sh
  1. Pull the AI Model

Fetch the 1.5b distilled DeepSeek model:

ollama run deepseek-r1:1.5b
  1. Compile the Extension

Before debugging, compile the TypeScript code:

npm run compile
  1. Go to Debugging mode to test the Extension
