MCNP5 Parallel continue runs #8

I recall from previous experience that as far back as at least MCNP5v1.4 you needed to continue a run with the same number of processors as your performed the initial run with. I.e. if a run was started with 8 cores you needed to continue with 8 cores.

This has implications for parallel restart files, if
1. not fixed will need to produce a runtpe with the correct number of cores
2. fixed can use normal serial runtpe file

Need to confirm that

  • this bug was fixed
  • if serial runtpe file can be used in parallel restart

Not sure this can ever be fixed - so many of those parameters and embedded in the runtpe that I wonder if it is even a well-defined behavior? It should be possible to run an n-way parallel job on a single core, however, if it's just for setup.
