What is this two lines do in the exception handlers example?

client.settings = self.rebuild_client_settings()
return self.update_client_settings(client.get_settings())

How rebuild and update works?

Yeah I know this, I just asked the theory behing those functions. I can implement them just want to understand what they do.
So for example rebuild_client_settings is deleting the dumped settings then create a new one, and update is keeping the same file just updating the content of it?

In this case whats the difference between the to function?
I just interested about the concept not the code itself. :)

rebuild_client_settings - Resets all uuids, device etc and saves new settings as account property (django model)

update_client_settings - saves the settings passed to the account (django model)
