From the demo video, I can see that the app minimizes its window when you start to pick a color (when the magnifying lens appear). Here on my Ubuntu 18.04.2 (GNOME) machine, it does not. Instead, the window goes completely black during this process. It comes back to normal after I've picked a color.

See screenshot. The black box is Pick's window.

See output of journalctl | grep "pick". I think there are some interesting lines in there.
journalctl.txt

Installed from the Snap Store.

This is a graphics issue. Pick used to minimise itself when picking, but on some desktops this was causing the picker to not work until the Pick window was unminimised by the user, which was obviously ridiculous. So I changed it to make the window completely transparent instead. However, it looks like changing window opacity is not supported on your machine -- whether this is your graphics drivers or your graphics card I do not know, I'm afraid.

Hi Stuart.
Pick worked very well for me previously, it's a wonderful tool, I love it. Thanks a lot for creating and keeping it alive!

Unfortunately since I updated to Ubuntu 22.04 it crashes similarly as soon as I click on the pick color button. The gui breaks and won't change the cursor to the picker magnifying glass. I can't get it back from being minimized, only if I click on the top bar, and select pick color from there. No matter where I click after that, the result is always rgb(0,0,0).
I installed it from the snap store.

Here's a video about the behavior.

Also the output of my journalctl | grep "pick"
pick_error.log

I've moved this to a different issue, #85 -- it might be the same problem, but it might be separate, so I'll keep them apart for now. More over there!
