The prizes for the competition are a combination of trophies and edible prizes, these will need purchasing in advance.

Generally we have three sizes of trophies, one for each of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The remaining trophies are a mixture of the medium and small sizes.

Note: Gold sponsors can sponsor a prize, their logo then appears on the trophy

Required actions:

  • Decide on trophy sizes and design
  • Trophies ordered
  • Trophies arrived

Looking at Premier Trophies Mega Mirror Glass Award (https://www.premiertrophies.co.uk/product/mega-mirror-glass-award/):
1st place - 20.5 cm
2nd place - 18.5 cm
3rd place, excellence in engineering, robot and team image - 16.5 cm
We could have logo and 3 lines of text (enough for 'SR2025 - Urban Heights' and a gap and then the award name) with laser engraving, but no sponsor name (which we didn't have last year anyway) for a total of ~£85 (inc. VAT and delivery). Last year (#1348) was £187, so this would be a £100 saving for a pretty similar looking trophy (marginally smaller).

Looking at Premier Trophies, they have a Quarry marble black series (https://www.premiertrophies.co.uk/product/quarry-marble-black-series/) which looks nicer than the ones above and is marginally more (~£10 more) and would fit the theme of this year's game better too.

Alternative glass ones include the Oblivion Jade Glass Award (https://www.premiertrophies.co.uk/product/oblivion-jade-glass-award/) which is hexagon shaped, also ~£10 more than than the Mega Mirror Glass whilst also looking nicer.

I've ordered the trophies. The edible prizes are usually a box of jelly babies and a box of celebrations per team, so we can sort that closer to the competition.

Think it would be best to not close this until the edible prizes have been bought, but they are quite quick to do, so I've moved the iteration to reflect this

Missed that a separate task #1502 has been created for the edible prizes. Given that, I'm happy to close this task as the physical trophies have arrived.
