I have an idea about priority.
I think

if (detached && action.request.priority == priority && priority != Picasso.Priority.LOW) {
      priority = computeNewPriority()
    }

is better than

 if (detached && action.request.priority == priority) {
      priority = computeNewPriority()
    }
