I'm a doctor, Public Health resident from Portugal. I strongly believe in the sharing of (scientific) knowledge and the open-source philosophy.
Among other projects (that you can check in my profile) I've been developing and maintaining Showdownjs for the last 5 years. As you know, Showdown is a free library and it will remain free. However, maintaining and improving the library costs time and money.
I have been developing the library in my free-time, as a passion project! I am so full of ideas that I want to develop but I can only stretch myself so thin. If I could raise the funds to hire people to help me and stop working extra-hours at my regular job, I would be a very happy person with more time to dedicate to this (an other) amazing projects!

Maintaining project websites and showdown's API costs money 'cause I need to pay for a lot of stuff (just Openshift costs 50$ monthly). Also, I would LOVE to start testing IN ALL BROWSERS and versions (using browserstack, which costs 129$ a month).
