Lottie started in 2016 as a fun little side project. Back then, we could never have foreseen what it would be like today. Lottie is now used by tens of thousands of apps and exists in some form on every active Android device. Creating Lottie for Android has been one of the most satisfying and humbling experiences of my life. I've learned so much, met so many people, and have been constantly blown away by creative animations and use cases I’ve seen in the Lottie community.
However, creating and maintaining Lottie has its own costs. I have spent thousands of hours on nights and weekends developing and supporting Lottie for Android. I currently account for over 99% of the contributions to the project and without a continual investment, the project would quickly atrophy

Supporting Lottie is not my day job and I have been doing it solely out of my passion for the project.

In addition, as Lottie has grown, the amount of support it requires has grown as well. Sponsoring me will support the enormous effort it takes to support and improve Lottie. The higher tiers will also give you access to special levels of support that I haven’t been able to offer before.

Moreover, people occasionally experience rendering issues with very specific devices (I’m looking at you Samsung and Huawei) and this requires purchasing devices to reproduce and fix issues. This has been infeasible before but would be possible with sponsorships.
