I am a software engineer from Texas, and ever since I was introduced to coding as a child, I was enamored. The idea of being able to be in control of what my computer was doing was mind-blowing to me in the mid 90s. I couldn't get enough of it; I would walk to the public library multiple times a week so that I could read reference material about programming and different programming languages. I taught myself BASIC and C++ in middle school this way. Took my first actual class on computer science in high school and I knew this was it for me.

That joy of learning new things about computers and making them do the things one would want them to do, the high of solving a complex problem, and the awe of creating a particularly elegant bit of code are some of the things I want to be available to the masses without cost. That is the idea behind this project -- to be a repository of free solutions to exercises, in a number of programming languages, and with with varying complexity for anyone to learn from. To be somewhere you can come and see best programming practices and best Git practices.

I am asking for funding because, ultimately, I have to do a cost-benefit analysis of how much time I can afford to put into this project, no matter how strongly my feelings are. I would like to put as much time as I can into this process, and sponsorship would mean I could put more time into the project.

@bcsmith2846

This goal will allow me to take this from something I do on the side to something that I can justify spending much more time on. If there is this much support for the project, I can start marketing, creating a face for the project, start outreach efforts, and professionalizing the project. The main idea of this project is focused around free learning resources for the masses that are free in terms of freedom of speech and in terms of a free lunch, forever. With this money I will set up dedicated servers with completely free code playgrounds for multiple languages, and I will begin creating supplementary educational material for the languages featured in the project to be hosted on these servers.
