Aurora OpenCloud

When I first got into contact with DevOps I loved the principle of the Cattle computer. No more tedious and long set-up of loved Pet's and having to maintain all of them. I love writing a piece of code to define my infrastructure and have it summon an Infrastructure to spec from scratch. This Project is my attempt to make a illumos based System and API that you can control via your favourite tool like ansible, terraform or CLI to accomplish this task. It is based on the image approach. Using OCI (also known as docker) Images and illumos Zones to allow defining known States. The Infrastructure definition will give an API to use with your favourite tool. To deploy applications Kubernetes will be used, integrated via CNI and CSI Plugins. To round off the offer the Idea is that you can run this on many Cloud Providers including but now limited to gcloud, aws and OpenStack. Allowing you to control all your Application deployments via one federated API/Interface.

A parser and executer for SPEC files known from Redhat and popular in the illumos community. Including importers and parsers for many other Build Metadata formats like pkgsrc and openindiana makefiles. Run builds inside defined Environments and aims to make packaging for many platforms as simple and enjoyable as possible.
