Become a sponsor to AlmaLinux OS
When the reduced life of CentOS Linux 8 was announced, it shook the Linux world. Many life-long lovers of this RHEL clone felt abandoned and bereft as the shockwaves of the shift of resources from CentOS Linux to CentOS Stream hit. Without a stable downstream RHEL operating system, many industries were going to struggle significantly.
That's when AlmaLinux was born.
Started by a group of people that build CloudLinux, AlmaLinux was the first CentOS Linux replacement to launch when we released AlmaLinux OS 8 in March of 2021, and our adoption has exploded since then. Check out our 2021 recap to see all the amazing things the community has done so far, and overview of our plans for 2022.
A healthy community is required for any open source project, and we are working on expanding ours. We will be sharing our infrastructure, event, and other outreach and improvement plans on the AlmaLinux OS blog soon!
If you want to contribute to AlmaLinux, there are tons of ways to do so! We need help with everything from website updates to marketing and event staffing, to infrastructure automation (in Infra team even has a list of things they're working on in the wiki).
Your sponsorship of AlmaLinux OS goes to the AlmaLinux OS Foundation (the governing body of the operating system) to pay for our infrastructure needs and our outreach goals, and we are so excited to have you. If you have any questions for the board, please feel free to open an issue on the AlmaLinux Board Business repo, and certainly submit your application for membership. Members of the AlmaLinux OS Foundation vote for board members and any other Foundation business that requires a vote. Everyone who has a vested interest in the future of AlmaLinux is welcome.
