Error with filter_var in Author.php #3

Good evening,
It seems that there is a mistake in this file:
https://github.com/spbooks/phpmysql7/blob/Registration-Validation-Email/Ijdb/Controllers/Author.php
In the repo there is(line 30):
else if (filter_var($author['email']) == false) {
but that don't validate email unstead use:
else if (!filter_var($author['email'], FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)){
