What is the recommended method for detecting instruction types for custom-0/1/2 opcodes?

I need to support custom opcodes that could contain branches. These implementations vary, custom opcodes are a sandbox with possible overlap between developer implementations.

Would mavis integration be the way to go to support the custom opcode ranges ?
