Quickly dumping this since I had this idea while in bed.

Some way for servers to advertise "last time we had a major update" and then that info could be shown in the launcher server entry. Think about it, if you're a player that regularly plays on 5 different servers, you may not be aware when one of those has new major features.

To avoid visual noise, probably best if this feature only appears on the favorites tab? Also needs some way to group communities.

Aeshus already mentioned this, but RSS seems like a solid route for this? As to your concern about having changelogs formatted in-ui, would it be possible to truncate entries and have a link that points folks back to the respective server's CL?

Anything that avoids overreliance on Discord for servers communicating with their players is a plus.

It'd probably be ideal for it to be labelled a more generic "server news", as otherwise servers would be likely to just publish every single changelog regardless of significance, creating way more notification noise than need be. Plus a generic name would make it less awkward if a server wants to use the feature to, say, announce policy changes for those not in their Discord server.

We second that RSS would probably be the most solid way to implement this, as it's a fairly robust standard for this kinda stuff. If multiple servers share an RSS link, then they should also share their notification for new posts, etc etc
