About backend

Hello. I want to share something I feel weird by reading the documentation. As far as I understand it's possible to make the frontend/native part of the app to talk with a backend written in any language. This is clear because there are some permission in the content-policy about the websocket and also some example in the repository. I cannot find in the guide any reference to this backend system. Probably it's my fault and it's simply there... but it's not clear to me that this ios possibility just by reading the documentation. This is not a criticism, I'm just wondering if I'm getting everything right.
