Survey groups including BSS and BASS both complained of noise in the images which Mike worked hard to reduce as much as possible. There was a lot of testing over the years to figure out ways to reduce this - grounding, different power supplies, etc.
When installing the instrument we often see grounding issues between the telescope and the instrument even though a piece of G-10 non-conductive material is mounted between the two mating surfaces.

Possibly Solved

New electronics will be used for 90Prime v2.0 and this issue might not exist anymore.
