Self - destructing messages

I'm not too knowledgeable about how XMPP works, and if this is possible, but I would like to be able to send a message to someone, and set is as "Self-Destruct" and pick from 1, 5, 30, 60 minutes up to one day or week or month. Someone could just take screenshots to capture a self destructing message, but most people wouldn't, and implementing this feature would help many people take care of their privacy also on their contact's end.
