Use component, parent if none at component, etc., collection if not at parent. Only if published. If description is coming from a level other than, preface with "Description from material's [collection/seres/subseries]:
For this record 1352301, we should see a Scope and Content note taken from the Series level with a contextualizing statement added at the end.
Note: Contextualizing statement at the end of the scope and contents, constructed thus from all the parent objects. Example "This material can be found in the Agnes De Mille papers, Series II. CORRESPONDENCE, 1897-1945, To Agnes de Mille." In the example, "To Agnes de Mille" is the parent object, "Series II. CORRESPONDENCE, 1897-1945" is the parent of that object, and "Agnes De Mille papers" is the parent of that object and final ancestor.

Some items are not inheriting a scope and content note and are not getting a contextualizing statement. Some I suspect are just too far down the tree (ex. smith_1342845_MODS.xml, smith_1344273_MODS.xml) but some I'm not sure what the issue is (ex. smith_1344023_MODS.xml).
