iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “init.itunes.apple.com”

I enabled SSL for every itunes connection in Charles (there is no option to enable all) and when I open iTunes I get this message:

The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “init.itunes.apple.com”, which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?

Then when I accept, nothing shows up in apple music and I get a blank screen.

This also happens for the following servers:
“init.itunes.apple.com”
“upp.itunes.apple.com”
“se2.itunes.apple.com”

Are you using Charles because you are concerned about eves-dropping on your iTunes-related network traffic... a privacy concern? If Apple has invalid certificates assigned to those domains, then I'm not sure how the author of spotify2am can fix this. Can you report this to Apple, or is it a problem in Charles?

I'm not using Charles because of a privacy concern, I'm using it because it was part of the guide.

"Start iTunes and Charles (or another intercepting proxy you like). Make sure SSL Proxying is enabled and working correctly."

I was just seeing if anyone else had this issue because it came along with following the guide. I've never used Charles myself.

@mattgabor have you solved your issue? I am having a similar problem with Charles. I have tried enabling SSL proxying for all hosts and ports but I'm still getting the error message in iTunes.

Disabling SSL proxying solves the issue but then I can't read the traffic headers in Charles.

I had the same problem. The solution is you need to install an SSL certifcate first, here's the instructions on how to do that:
