Bug description

Swiping back sometimes causes the chat you swiped from to be highlighted with a grey background

Steps to reproduce

  • Open Signal
  • Observe that you are on the all chats list
  • Tap a group chat
  • Write a message
  • Send the message
  • Swipe up to close Signal
  • Put your phone down
  • Go for a walk
  • Come home, realise you want to Signal message your friend
  • Pick up your phone
  • Open Signal, observe that you are returned to the group chat
  • Swipe left to go back to all chats
  • Observe that there's a grey background stuck on the chat you swiped out of
  • Get a bit frustrated

Actual result: Grey background on the chat you swiped away from (almost like it's selected)

Expected result: All chats have white backgrounds

This appears to be intermittent. Seems to be triggered when the device has been idle a little before re-opening Signal to send a new message.

I have got this behaviour too. I'm using an iPhone 13 with iOS 18 DB 8 and Signal version 7.26 (301). Will also upload a debug log when it occurs the next time.

Edit: It occured again just a few minutes ago. Here is the Debug log: https://debuglogs.org/ios/7.26.0/f348c7fcfb3c96f5db9f990cd62adf824d51137853d44ec3ccede47377ae6dbb.zip
