We can connect to WSS easily, but can we get the online status of a person without authentication? i.e without scanning the QR code? I found that to find online status, the WhatsApp web subscribes to the online status of a particular phone number & then the server sends all the online statuses of that particular number. I want to do this without authentication with a QR code. Is it possible?

No, the messages are transferred using websockets where authentication is pre-requisite.
