AAAD aap is not working since yesterday December 5 2021. Car stream, AA stream, Fermata app nothing is appearing in android auto app. I have upgraded to the latest version and also deleted cache memory and all data but still the same issue.
Pls assist on priority. I am a pro user.
Thanks

Hey I opened issue 161 where I am having the same issues as you guys.
I managed to get something working for myself but dont know if it was a fluke or not.
I posted in my issue how i got it working but figured I would drop it here as well in case it is helpful for anyone else.

Basically I think what has to be done is

Installed and updated already android auto or whatever is there.
Install and update AAAD
search for android auto app on play store and locate it, hit three dots on top right and turn off auto update
Go into AAAD and install whatever app you want, in my case it was carstream. It was previously uninstalled.
Go into settings->app->android auto and uninstall, which really just downgrades it to some previous version. I also cleared the cache and data for the app while I was in here, again I don't know if all these things made a difference but I am trying to put them all down in the order I did them.
(I am not sure if I installed the app before or after uninstalling android auto, if it doesnt work before uninstalling try it after at this point as that could feasibly make a difference) Go into AAAD and install whatever app you want, in my case it was carstream.
Plug your phone into your car so it launches android auto, it will then force an update of android auto on your phone, or at least it did on mine, which you can allow and click through, after that it made me unplug and plug my phone back in but now car stream was there.

I hope this works for someone more then me and wasn't just a fluke nor a one time thing like the next time I plug it in it will all disappear again.

Yes I managed to do what you did before posting here. I also I'm not sure about the chronology of the the steps but it's a one time solution. Next time you plug in it's the same problem. Either AAAD can't load the apps on Android Auto or the apps (car stream , aa mirror) just crash
One more thing . There isn't Android Auto in Play Store 🙄. When I type it it just shows some other apps. I have s21 ultra.

Just wanted to check back in, I posted above with my work around. I got to play with it a bit more today and try a few other things to see what did and didnt effect it. I also wanted to clarify because you specify aaad isn't appearing, I have no idea if that appears in android auto, I used aaad to install car stream and I launch car stream from my car head unit so I don't interact with aaad at all through android auto, if that helps at all. Also the comment about android auto in the play store, it does show up for me I am using a one plus 6t, however I was using apk mirror or something like that to snag old versions. Also as mentioned below I don't think its necessary to remove it just clear the data before each use so I guess thats something.

The only action I have found that has to occur to make it work is to go into settings -> apps -> android auto and clear app data/cache.
Then the next time you plug your phone into your car it will think its the first time you are running android auto and bring you through the initial setup but carstream is there. I am assuming other apps work as well but really only use carstream so didnt really mess with the others.

For example I plugged it into my car, car stream wasnt in the list of apps on my cars screen.
Unplugged phone, went into app settings and cleared data for android auto, plugged phone back in, it prompted for permissions and setup and then said it would work next time I tried to use it so I unplug and plug my phone in again and now car stream is on the stream and I can open it and use it properly.

I tried to disconnect and reconnect in various ways to see what would cause carstream to disappear from the launcher. Unplugging and replugging my device it still seemed to work fine, turning my car on and off seemed to still work fine. It wasn't until I cleared all the running apps on my phone that it didnt show up the next time I launched android auto, I am assuming this would also happen if i restarted my phone, and likely there is some process shutdown limit in android where eventually the process would be closed as well but I havent tested to that extent. However going back into settings and clearing android autos app data resets it back so that it works again at least for that drive.

Same thing happening here on Samsung s20fe 5g.

I can get it to work by going to Android auto and deleting data and going through the Android auto setup again before starting to drive, but I have to repeat the procedure every time I disconnect the phone.

To anyone saying this fix is only temporary that is really my intention, I am not a developer or anything just a user and wanted to share what I found in the hopes it gets people through until the developer can find a fix if its possible.

Hi All, Finally I am able to get back those desired applications car stream and AA mirror. The only way to get it through deletion of cache files and data forms of Android Auto. Then, restart your phone. Plug in to your car and admit all settings permission of android auto. It will show you all the AAAD application installed in your phone and you are ready to go. The only draw back is every time you have to reinstate this process to enjoy this service if you are away of your car from long time. Its a kind of temporary solution. However, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and guidance at least to enjoy seamless music during the journey until it does not fix permanently. This is from the developers updated readme file in the code tab..

Google is banning multimedia and mirroring apps (2021/12/03): We are monitoring the problem to evaluate the best solution. Ideally, the apps inside AAAD must be updated in order for this issue to be solved. AAAD is ready for the updates as soon as they are available. Temporary fix: clear cache and datas of Android Auto before using it.

Good night all.
I have Android 11 and every time I connect the phone to the car it asks me to update the AA version. I already managed to uninstall AA from the phone (since it doesn't appear as an application on the phone), it had to be through Google Play. I managed to install version 6.3 of AA, but when I connect to the car, it always asks to update. Does anyone know how to get through this situation? I'm not rooted on the phone, so I'll have to use AAAD to be able to mirror the phone. Thank you very much.

How can you clear cache on the app, if she didnt appear on the aplications ?
It seems that the AA is working on Background.
Someone know how to solve this ?
