Just in case this helps (things are changing so rapidly with Quarto!) I like using the following:

#| code-line-numbers: "1|2|3"

which means that I can scroll through the lines without having to repeat the code slides. I haven't worked out how to just highlight multiple lines though as that's useful for some cases too.

You can also highlight multiple lines at once using ,:
