I created a temporary Google Maps Geoconding API key for development purposes. Since this is an unrestricted key it needs to be disabled as soon as the production key is available.

I re-enabled our temporary geocoding API to check if the Geocoding requests where the cause of the job not working properly. It turns out that even when I can issue valid requests to the API from the server using this temporary key, the jobs still fail. I am wating for Nick Browns answer today and will disable the temporary key then.
